There seems quite a glut of folk who claim the world as we know it will end on Jan. 1, and even more who have hunkered down with their beans, rice and powdered butter. I have no issue with those who prepare for the worst (I myself have maintained full disaster recovery plans for years), but rather with the money grubbing fearmeisters who prey upon them. It may be our civilisation will become a shambles in a few weeks or so. Nevertheless I think claims of doom would have a great deal more credibility if they were unaccompanied by wild-eyed sales schtick.

<<But I think it's disgusting that he's been whipping up Y2K fears and then advertising "solutions" like dried food and other crisis paraphernalia.>>

Preying on the vulnerable so to speak.
