Do you suppose that this has something to do with current inventories? There is a page on the Corel site with a list of the rebates they offer on various products.

I have been trying to get a copy of their Linux deluxe, but it isn't available yet for shipping. Word Perfect 8.0 for Linux is going for approximately $54 and is available . Could it be that they are using capacity for Linux products now, and not worrying too much about win products. This might explain dealing more dearly for win products.??

Maybe these are sales people who came over with Wordperfect they were as you said. By the way I tried to get Corel Linux deluxe last Friday and couldn't get it.

Sorry, but I don't understand why their other products scare you - because of the sales reps...?

I use products because I like them and don't buy products if I don't.
If the products are good and they work, that's all I personally care about.
The sales rep could be Gomer Pyle for all I care...if I like the product itself, that's what counts.
But that's just me.

Totally agreed on Orcl's marketing power. Just watch Sybase it is rising on its news products and marketing strategy.
