I agree, and I think it would have been better if we had been independently wealthy and both stayed home. My parents were divorced when I was 10, and although I saw my father, I missed a lot by not having a man more involved in my life, because things are different for us in this world depending on sex. Boys do need to become more tame, and they face more hazards, as well. I was a book worm, and I still could not avoid all fights, because I was an object to be picked on by the greasers, and at some point, you have to react.....It helped, though, that I was the eldest of four, and my mother leaned on me, especially with my brother with cerebral palsy. I was better prepared than most guys to be the primary care- giver.....
