Cisco is always on the cutting edge, This statement alone in that article makes it incredible. Cisco trashed their ATM/IP core switch and still has no plans for one. Nothing has come out of Cerent/Monterrey and nothing is scheduled in the forseeable future. They already conceeded those purchases were a failure in announcing they are looking for another optics company, Qtera or Ciena, to dismantle and throw away. No core ATM switch and no optical products = LAME DUCK!!! In this business, you snooze, YOU LOSE!!!
