Vitesse Increases Commitment to Storage Area Networks; Dedicates Business Unit to SAN Market January 4, 2000 08:04 AM CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2000--Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. VTSS today announced the formation of an internal group to focus specifically on Storage Area Networks (SANs). The SAN Products Group combines the Fibre Channel and Enclosure Management Product groups and demonstrates Vitesse's increasing commitment to the Storage Area Network market. Under the guidance of Bob Rumer, vice president of the SAN Products Group, the mission of the new group is to capitalize on the strength of its fibre channel and enclosure management product lines by bringing new and innovative solutions to the rapidly growing SAN marketplace. These new products will be tied together with Vitesse's complete software development platform. For years, Vitesse has been a leader in the Fibre Channel/SAN market with virtually every Fibre Channel system using or interfacing to a Vitesse product. The new SAN Products Group allows Vitesse to continue its leadership in the SAN arena by defining, developing, and marketing a full range of high-performance solutions that are not available within the storage or server market today. Vitesse's new organization will strengthen its relationships with key customers and address the developing component requirements for silicon solutions for both in- and out-of-band communications for SAN command and control applications.
