That's funny. A $21 service contract on an $80 item. Did you have to use your advanced finance degrees to figure out if that was a good deal? I bought a service contract on a used car that I bought, and it turned out to be a good deal since the car eventually needed a significant repair that was covered. But in general, service contracts are just an added profit to the retailer, and are a bad deal for consumers.

GGuy and CC have always pushed those service contracts. They both have an advantage over COST in the variety of merchandise they sell, but commissioned salespeople are annoying, no matter what they are selling. But I would not short them based on annoying salespeople, the car dealers are still in business . . . .
