Thanks for the meaningful post Enam.
(I've got to make this quick - I am supposed to be studying for finals).
In my own estimates (and I'll try to provide details on those after Friday) PCLN is worth three times it's current price (seriously). It's rates of growth and business model are phenomenal, using any measure you'd like (revenues or earnings). The company's operations are securely financed and it's ratios are strong.
I am in disagreement with you on the patent issue. I think that Priceline is winning that war (and that's bonanza).
On the macro front I agree with you about short term events - not so on the following demise of the Bull market. There are no indications of that. Economy is strong. The boom is going global (and so are companies). Investors are pouring $$ back into the market without a sight of saturation or a change in long term consensus. Developing countries have routinely experienced prolonged growth rates above 5% (more commonly double digits). There are sectors in the US economy right now that are experiencing that stage of development and links to other sectors widen the good fortunes.
The political situation around the globe has never been better....
I am drifting here, but I hope you sense my drift.
We'll talk more specifics (about PCLN) is a few days.
Cheers!
Peter
