EMC is used by virtually every top line portal, not to mention banks, reservation systems, telecommunications systems, etc. EMC has a reputation for unquestionable quality, and with that reputation come customer loyalty. I have heard many companies say that they have no interest in a competitors product, that is quite a statement.

I too will be watching their earnings release closely, as EMC is about 25% of my portfolio. But they seem to respond with upside surprises every time.

Len, EMC and NTAP still rule separate domains. They are beginning to rub up against one another, and the NTAP sales force is being educated on how to beat EMC.

NTAP's price is probably ahead of itself.

I would imagine that an earnings disappointment by EMC might actually have a short term negative effect on NTAP's price.

I think your course of waiting and watching is a good one. However, we can expect NTAP to have an on the money Q3, ending late January, as their second quarter was so good, I am sure they went into Q3 with a healthy, stealthy backlog.
