Matt, i have noticed the same...i can't quantify it, but it seems that the market goes in the direction of the bond in the last half hour whenever the move in the bond has been strong, like today. i am actually amazed that the Dow didn't succumb more, however, a look at the components list reveals that many of the inflation stocks (co's whose earnings depend on pricing power) have gone up today.

regards,

hb

Matt, right on.

Bonds close one hour before equities at the CBOT and equities play off this in the last hour. Today, stocks followed bonds down lead and sold off into the bell in the last hour.

Other times, if bonds simply hold their own, stocks will rally in the last hour as they are out of debt trading lynchpin.

Today, bonds got crushed. In 1999, there are more traders in the bond pits that have taken such huge hits that many of them have Or taken "financial reorganization". Many have had to leave the business all together. Nightmare stories out there and the worst year in bond market since I believe '29. At the very least, this year '99 ranks up there in the top 3 as the all time worst.

Whipsaws and air pockets that suck the financial lifeblood out of you. And once locked in these positions, not a damn thing you can do about it like a hostage on a train.

Best Regards, J.T.

Matt, You know that bond correlation you were talking about yesterday?...

Well, if Bond Yields hold at 6.31% or lower - or better yet - even a mini rally to bond yield levels 6.28%.. The stock market is going to take off in the last hour like nothin you ain't seen before..

A ROCKET LAUNCH. Watch Bond yields with 1 hour and 10 minutes to go on equity front 2.50 est. for the clue.

If we close at 6.32% or higher - no huge rocket launch.

Best Regards, J.T.
