Re: "Pricewatch also seems to confirm better availability of top-end CuMines. Intel ready to flood the market with CuMines. Big price cuts coming next quarter. I wonder if AMD-ites starting to get worried <gg>"

I think they are really starting to (Mc)Panic now that their stock price is dropping and the prospects of an even wider performance gap looms on the horizon.

Hi Joey:

1. Has Intel figured out how to flood the market with 733's yet? Or are they still trying to meet demand?

2. Are Intel price cuts required to remain competitive with the Athlon?...that "all-in" "heady" cost base for 733's is no small obstacle for Intel, it seems.

3. Can we expect another "flutterball" delivery on Monday?

4. Don't know about you, but if I were an Intel shareholder I'd be very concerned about accepting as credible this recent hopeful pronouncement. Sounds like more of the same "wishful thinking" we've heard from Intel since the Athlon arrived at the dance.

5. That narrowing gap between the ratio of INTC and AMD share price since the Athlon's introduction is one real measure of the changing landscape in the microprocessor market segment, no matter what sputtering and spewing is emitted bt the INTC zealots.

Joey - RE: "Pricewatch also seems to confirm better availability of top-end CuMines. Intel ready to flood the market with CuMines. Big price cuts coming next quarter. I wonder if AMD-ites starting to get worried <gg>"

Worry? As far as I know there is only one Tier 1 Cumine PC on store shelves.

I had expected Compaq and HP Cumine 650s, 700s, and/or 733s to be on store shelves. So far one one of those are being sold. Who knows how the situation is with business PCs?

Where are these PCs???

FLOPPERMINES are STILL practically nowhere to be found at retail stores and there are rumors Intel may come out with faster version? What more BS can Intel do this year?

And how in the world are these FLOPPERMINES expected to flood the market all of a sudden? Does that mean that Intel did announce it with only one Fab producing, as some article suggested.

And as far as the price cuts, Intel screwed themselves up with the Vapormine launch. AMD is in a much better position now.

joey, we are worried....after taking Xmas with the Athlon, I think AMD will lose Easter to the cumine. And it means AMD's ASPs may drop by $4 or $5.

You've ruined our day, Joey!!!
