aduke - a pegmatite is an occurrance of very large crystallization, creating a coarse grained rock. significance is that individual crystals can be very large - up to several meters in length - meaning that compounds (metals?) associated with these large minerals will be highly concentrated in pegmatites. i remember visiting a pegmatite mine during field camp in the black hills where lithium was mined high-grade. the crystals where up to 6 feet long...it was amazing!

it's a good thing to see...as long as your target minieral is there!!
