they will spin off their gateway hardware business. This out of H&Q's Dave Levy today:

Net2Phone Launches New and Improved Client Software
· Net2Phone announced today the worldwide launch of its new and improved Net2Phone software
client.
· New features include free PC-to-PC calling, free voicemail, ICQ integration, and automatic
installation.
· The new software launch could accelerate Net2Phone's ubiquity and solidify the company's
position as the voice-enabling technology of the Web.
· Our rating on Net2Phone shares is BUY.

Net2Phone is the leading provider of Internet telephone services to businesses and consumers. The
company offers products and services that allow users to make high-quality, low-cost calls from telephone-to-
telephone and from PC-to-telephone. Most importantly, the company brings live voice communication
to the Web.

Net2Phone announced the worldwide rollout of version 10 of its client software that includes
several enhanced features. The new software dovetails with the company's strategy of voice-enabling
the Web by improving user interface and adding new functionalities that could
significantly enhance the user experience.

Some of the new features include:
· Free PC-to-PC calling capabilities (users can call other users through the PC for free),
· Free voicemail (users receive free voicemail service through the new client software),
· ICQ integration (ICQ users can now chat with other ICQ users for free over the PC),
· PC-to-fax (users can now fax documents over the Web),
· Firewall penetration (the new client software can now be used through most firewalls), and
· Automatic installation (upon download, the software is automatically installed on the
computer).
The launch of the new client should increase Net2Phone's ubiquity. Furthermore, new features
should significantly enhance users' experiences. We believe that by including these new features,
as well as by tighter integration with ICQ, Net2Phone will solidify its position as the leading
provider of voice-enabling Web services.
Conclusion
Net2Phone's robust financial performance and growing roster of Web partners reflect the
popularity and increasing ubiquity of the Net2Phone service. We believe Net2Phone has locked
up significant Internet real estate that will provide the company with increased minute volume
and additional customers. Additionally, we are encouraged by management's proactive approach
to providing Web-based services like unified messaging to augment minute-based revenue.
Furthermore, Net2Phone, in our opinion, is on the cusp of getting a boost in its usage as the
service goes live with various AOL Web properties (ICQ, Instant Messenger, Netscape, and
CompuServe). We continue to believe that Net2Phone is well positioned to be the de facto
standard for voice enabling the Internet.
