Welp- we're a "Linux" stock now.

Speaking of which, anyone heard anything about a Caldera IPO?

Dear JC: Is this what you are referring too? JDN

Palo Alto, California, Dec. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Sun Microsystems Inc., one of the top makers of powerful server computers that run Internet sites, will ship a version of the Linux operating system with its own hardware, the Wall Street Journal Interactive reported, citing Herb Hinstorff, an official in charge of Sun's Solaris operating system strategy. The Linux software, provided by Red Hat Inc., will not be installed on the hardware, the Journal said. Sun has welcomed the advent of Linux as a competitor to Microsoft Corp.'s software dominance, but is less keen to see it compete with its own products, the Journal said.

Linuxcare Inc., which provides technical support and services for Linux software, said yesterday it received $32.5 million in funding from Dell Computer Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc., Oracle Corp. and others.
