I can appreciate your observations except if I were to cover a short position with an options play, it would be for a January strike price, not a December strike price which is equivilent to wasting money because of the short protection span of 3 days. If I were really short that many shares, I would not have any problem spending a $1 instead of 25 cents and getting the protection way out until January 21st.... and earnings would be worrying me more than the speculation in the last three days of this week.

I have tempered my observations of the option activity and base it additionally on the trading patterns of the options that I have observed over the past 6 months. Thanks for your point of view and since I have stated mine, I guess we will know if I was off base by 9:00 a.m. ET tomorrow morning. Good luck to all.
