the supertanker struck an iceburg a yr ago and she's been listing ever since... she's finally slipping beneath the waves down by the bow... meanwhile the firstclass passenegrs have all safely made it to the lifeboats and are rowing away while the clowns are still claiming that the ship is unsinkable and Captain Greenspan tells them that everything is under control... soon the panic for anything that floats will begin... and i've got my binaculars so i can watch (G)

btw- in this story... the captain goes down w/ the ship

hb, The Other Side of the Coin

The opposite of tax-loss selling is tax-gain holding. I suspect that some folks with some really nice gains are nervously holding, "hoping" they can defer their taxes into next year. Since many of these of these issues also have limited float, the moves can be even more dramatic.

Just an observation.
