Victor -
As a matter of policy I don't like to discuss my investment decisions. We are discussing PCLN here, not my investment strategy. Do not assume anything just because I play the PCLN bull on the thread. There are many factors to consider: technical indicator triggers for short term vs long term moves, hedging with derivatives per stock, the stocks role as part of a diversified portfolio, leverage, tax considerations, etc...
In other words, what an 8% decline means to you does not necessarily mean the same to me.
In addition, risk is relative. Look at all the high profile net companies. Their volatility(deviations) is outrageous.. but so are their returns, too. How uncommon is it for AMZN, YHOO, CMGI, DCLK, PTVL, EGRP, ATHM, even AOL, DELL, CSCO, etc to move 50-100% in a few months. Had you bought any of these in the last few years and DID NOT sell on the 8% dips (?!) you'd be a much wealthier investor today.
Got to go now.
BTW I do read the articles about the patents (I also have a friend who is a patent lawyer) I guess we just interpret things differently.
