I tried to address that in my prior post. Let me know if it makes sense.

If we're talking one person, I'd say absolutely. If we are talking a group of people, I'd say probably not, but still possible. So, like you I presume, I think it most likely that only knives were involved.

I think I mentioned she did not have a secret contact. I saw her thesis and her bibliography was all from written material; no phone calls. Jim also told me she never mentioned any secret source.

Has it been verified that she did have a backpack with her?

No backpack has ever been mentioned. I think it's too obvious an item to have been left out of newspaper reports so I'd have to assume she didn't. Nevertheless, I'm still waiting for people who would be in a position to know to call me back on this.
