You just have to take a looonnnngggg term view, years not months. It was demographics which led Yardeni to predict first the 5,000 and then the 10,000 Dow in this decade at a time when those targets appeared laughable to most "sober" observors. It also was one of the factors that led John Templeton to predict a booming market when 1,000 felt like a ceiling to many (possibly many of the participants here don't recall such a time back in the early '80s, but so it was--I still remember the first 60 million share day back in '82, I think it was, and it seemed like an unbelievable explosion; dating myself, I know, it was shortly after I began looking seriously at the market).
