Concurrent Computer Corporation Partners with Encore Media Group To
Demo S-VOD at the Western Show-Wired 2K
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR - news) announced today that it will partner with Encore
Media Group LLC (EMG) to demonstrate EMG's new subscription video-on-demand (S-VOD) service. One of the industry leading providers of
video-on-demand (VOD), Concurrent will demo EMG's S-VOD on its MediaHawk(TM) Video Server in Booth No. 3330 at the upcoming Western Show -
Wired2K, the leading regional cable trade show, December 14-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

VOD digital platform to evolve the interactive television market.''
VOD enables cable operators to offer subscribers an information and entertainment medium that provides individual freedom, control, choice, flexibility,
convenience, and simplicity through the use of a television and a digital set-top box. The most exciting benefit of VOD technology is that it brings digital quality
movies--including recent Hollywood hits--on-demand into cable subscribers' homes with full VCR-type control, such as pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.
S-VOD will complement VOD in a fashion similar to the way premium channel multiplexes have worked with pay-per-view or near-video-on-demand. S-VOD will
build cash flow for operators by solidifying the pay category in the upcoming era of two-way broadband digital and adding additional revenue opportunities.
Encore's S-VOD service would enhance an EMG cable subscriber's service by allowing for the impulse selection of movies for a simple fee. Movies would be
chosen from a collection of the premier titles offered across the family of EMG channels that month. S-VOD would showcase its collection of on-demand movie
programming with VCR-like functionality, and eliminate the dynamic of individual transaction ''speed bumps'' every time a consumer pondered the possibility of
viewing a movie.
