=============================

Schroder & Co. raised the price target on CISCO SYSTEMS to $140
from $90. Said "One could argue that because of Cisco's unique
enabling role in building and supporting the Internet economy, the
company's valuation premium to its competitors should be among the
highest, not the lowest." Said "No matter how you slice it, on
every conceivable metric, Cisco's valuation is at an all time
high." But given its role as a pioneer of the Internet economy,
its role in keeping that industry moving forward and its
productivity increases, "Cisco should at least hold its multiple
of 100x current year earnings." (Reuters 10:41 AM ET 12/16/99)

* CISCO SYSTEMS said it has signed a definitive agreement to buy
privately-held Worldwide Data Systems for about $25.5 mln in Cisco
stock. Worldwide Data, based in Howell, New Jersey, is a leader in
consulting and engineering services for converged data and voice
networks. The deal underscores Cisco's strategy to boost its
deployment of voice and video networks. The acquisition will be
accounted for as a purchase and is expected to close in the 2Q of
Cisco's fiscal 2000, Cisco said in a statement. (Reuters 03:39 PM
