I presently have a P-II 266 w/128 Sdram running NT which I built two years ago. I intend on upgrading in the coming year,
looking toward a multimedia machine with Firewire interface as key requirement.....

Tell him to buy an iMac, hehehehehe. Sounds to me he needs something easy to use.

I'm with you. First things first. Lets get Rambus on the desktop first.
The mobile sector will just add rocket fuel to this stock later on.
This stock is going to fly.
