<And you know what happened before !>

Yup! I know you love living in the past.

The story unfolded in Q1 1999. AMD was trying to ramp its socketed, lower-die size K6 while Intel raced ahead with slotted, larger-die size PIII. And K6 couldn't keep up with PIII on speed grades.

For a change look ahead. To see a picture of 2000, you can do that by switching the 1999 AMD/Intel K6/PIII story with Intel/AMD PIII/Athlon. Downright funny!

<Intel missed estimates by a few pennies - and AMD spent every other week issuing a new PREANNOUNCEMENT of "SUBSTANTIAL LOSSES AHEAD "!>

Now, if you are suggesting Intel in Q1 2000 is headed for the same fate as AMD in Q1 99, I disagree. Intel has to screwup some more to get there - I don't think they have reached that level of non-performance yet.
