RE:"Only one small system integrator in San Diego is offering a 733 MHz system. ONE out of THIRTY-FOUR. Only FIVE out of 34 had coppermines of any variety, while four times as many have Athlon 700's"....

Intel must be stockpiling again! <G>

Jim

PS...Appreciate your efforts on San Diego availability. Great job.

Yes, exactly. This info is 100% accurate from the December 10th issue of the Computer Edge. Computer Edge is a weekly free computer magazine which is mainly ads. It is available virtually everywhere.

It is also worth noting that several shops who used to be Intel only are now offering AMD Athlons. These shops cater mainly to business's judging by their offerings.

700's are everywhere and Intel's 733 are more rare than Athlon 750 and is offered by only one vendor.

PETZ - What was the Model Number of the IBM AThlon PCs you say you saw at Fry's over the week end?

I'm still curious because the FRY's up here - in the backyard of FRY's Headquarters - DON'T CARRY IBM PCs.

Paul

I have a feeling that the lone 733 does not have Intel chipset.
