Frodo, right now this is all speculation. Flynn is doing double duty I think:

His efforts,
-trimming workforce
-reducing overhead from 46% to 36%
-reassigning 110 employees from old swithces to new
-cutting down from 3 divisions to 2
-outsourcing
-his desire to " kick but of the giants " ( and let us not forget Juniper has
taken 15% off Crisco's market already despite it's size )

will achieve two ends IMO:

Will make the company leaner and meaner in case they don't like the offer they get.

Will make the company more palatable to a buyer.

Meanwhile all this looks extremely positive to me:

-The giant 50/450GB switch coming up, will leave LU,NT and CRISCO
in the desert dust smoking grass.

-They will snatch the exploding LMDS market ( they are winning 50% of all contracts )
because they are the leader.

-leader is exploding adsl ( overseas they will be using
copper rather than fiber for Internet ; too expensive to
plant fiber except in certain easily accessible aereas ).

-I expect more anouncements soon about other Telcos testing the 50/450.

-Once that ATM platform is chosen they will be rapidly able to deploy a
whole Internet spectrum such as the one chosen by GM Delphi and GM.

Let us not forget GM.
GM is the largest US Buyer after the Federal Government.
GM is not stupid.
Why did GM chose NN for the Internet structure?

Why did GM Delphi do that?
biz.yahoo.com
And AT&T?
att.com
And IBM, the biggest e-business company now with 60 bill in sales/year??
att.com

If you go to Money Central Wizard and input NN you will see
that if NNs PE were like that of other networkers it would now be valued at $80 - 110.

So we got lots of room to grow,

TA,

Unfortunately, I don't see this as positive news considering
that most of the current interest in NN is based upon a
possible takeover.

I don't see this as posturing by NN due to the fact they are
going to hold another ALL EMPLOYEE meeting tomorrow.

$25 looks better and better.
