niceguy, Intel is throwing the low end P-III away as cheaply as possible. I am not sure what will happen with the gigahertz sweepstakes. Who will one up the other. Perhaps Intel will release more fakeware, since they apparently lack any trueware...stuff that is in stock for sale. They are good at fakeware racing. I suspect AMD has several aces in their sleeves and they are biding their time to see what intel debuts....ready to offset it at short notice.
I wonder what will be released at 0:00:00 on 1 Jan, 2000 and by whom? Will it get that far?
Well if you do not need to have any goods, Intel might release a 2 gig CPU, they just will not be able to take it to show and tell.
