Agree with you 100%. The institutions must be salivating this morning. With the strong retail sales figure in the CPI report yesterday, the "inflation factor" can be used to create fear. Also, CNBS (everyone can figure out what the BS stands for) has been preaching about the trade deficit report which comes out tomorrow. These factors, and others, allow the market makers to take prices down and scare shares out of the weak holders hands, so the houses can sell them back to them at higher prices next week when the market picks back up when the Fed does not raise rates or go to a tightening bias. It really is interesting to watch because it happens over and over. Fear + Greed = Stupidity.
