About 2,000 scientists and engineers who develop customer offers and operations for AT&T's business units will report to Robison, who will be based here while also maintaining an office in Middletown, N.J. In his new position, Robison will be a partner to the leaders of the organizations that run AT&T's network and deliver data and Internet services to customers. Robison will also be responsible for the development of AT&T's common, open IP (Internet Protocol) platform, an integrated set of technical choices and capabilities used to efficiently develop IP services that satisfy customers. This work has been led by teams at AT&T Labs' San Jose and Middletown facilities, now reporting to Robison.
