I suppose I should respond to some of the comments made yesterday. FWIW, congratulations to the longs. Got out of my put position with a 50% haircut - could have been worse.

My short trade on ORCL for earnings was based on more "tactical" issues rather any strategic issues regarding growth stocks, etc. I just felt odds favored a decline after the run up in any but the most optimistic circumstances.

I've been admonished that I don't understand growth stocks. That's not particularly accurate as I do invest in high PE stocks. But in terms of internet growth stocks I would define growth as companies growing rev in 40%-100%+ range. ORCL is growing at roughly 13%. What Paul and others mean by growth is neither top nor bottom line growth. Rather it's as MeDroogies states a feeling of optimism about future market size. Numbers just get in the way. I have a little difficulty with that kind of analysis. I suppose we could go through ORCL products one by one and try to determine what their exposure to ecommerce really is but why clutter up a good day for longs. Rich
