There was 'no announcement'. The 10-Q was filed with the SEC and the standard disclaimer sentence that Cisco has included in many previous 10-K's and 10-Q's with a sentence that says something to the slant that going forward, growth could be 'fill in the blank here....' = not the same as previous growth. Many companies do this and Cisco has done it before.

Check the 10-Q filings of JDS Uniphase, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel and others to see if you uncover anything.
