If the lithium battery is an unusual type, rather than the more common cells used in the Nikon and many other cameras, then that is really unfortunate. I purchased two sets of NiMH batteries (four per set) plus a charger for my Nikon from a third party source at a total cost of less than $40. That I can afford. $100 is really steep.
