Peter, the thing is, they have now boosted the money supply even BEFORE there is any discernible crisis. what are they going to top this with if there really is a crisis?
what's more, if Y2K turns out to be a non-event as everybody now seems to assume, runaway inflation may well be a consequence of all this printing. in spite of Labor doctoring the statistics, they have actually become a lot less friendly of late. every month there is another bunch of items in the PPI and CPI that go up in price. soon WS won't know anymore what to exclude. PPI was saved last time by a 10% decline in the price of cattle hides...
