I get really p*ssed at the technology that we are provided "across the spectrum" for trading in
Canada. If its not the IDA "protecting us from ourselves" its the incompetence of the discount
brokerages....up till recently we had not included our data feeds......unfortunately that time has
passed.

Excellent post Chief,

I have, on numerous occasions, voiced my opinions regarding this matter but they seem to have fallen on deaf ears . The Ida keeps shuffling paper to make it look like they are working on improving the system. The bank discount brokerages keep blaming the exchanges for the slow feeds and executions. The exchanges don't want to improve because it may be perceived as biting the hand that feeds them, "the hand "is of course the brokers who have bought seats on the exchanges. And, of course,if we want accurate real time quotes then we are forced to pay rates twice as high as the Us or else settle for below average service and pay less.

Wow , what a country we live in .

Chief, the problem is an unusual technical glitch at the TSE. We fully expect them to solve it quickly and return to the usual reliability. They did not in the past suffer delays even in the fastest market. We know they are capable of it.

Should this not happen we will have to obtain the vendor feeds directly. As you probably realize this will take time and expense - probably a lot more time than it will take the TSE to solve their problem.

Sending email to the TSE market data department might not be a bad idea. I'm sure there's an address on their website somewhere.

Discussing these problems publicly is a good idea. I put in the suggestion to use email, as a reminder to others who may not be clear on the easiest way to contact us.

Thanks,
Gerry Rempel
