There is another school of thought which implies that for the last few years we have been in a bear market and have just started to come out of it. This takes into consideration that most sectors have not participated in the tech rally and have actually been been moving downwards...signifying a bear market...hence the adv decline divergences. I don't know whether I actually agree with the above, but it sure makes one think. Kinda like the cold war. Nosterdamus predicted a war lasting 40 years. Till the cold war was over, we didn't know we were in a war...!!! Till the professed bear market is over we may not know for sure we were in a bear market.
