I am in need of some quick help from the board! LOL

I have finally convinced a young sister to invest in the gorillas.

She bought 10 shares of CSCO at 99.5 yesterday...ouch!

She has about $2,000 more to invest.

I am really wondering if she should buy Q before Monday. At todays price it will be 5 shares.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance for your input.

Piyush,

Try using the "StockTalk Search" in the top, right corner to find my and others' posts about the front office space.

Mike i am curious about the PSFT/VNTV merger to see how they stack up against SEBL.

Insofar as gorilla gaming is concerned, I wasn't particularly impressed. Both companies merged when they were at relatively weak points in their history. PeopleSoft is probably healthier than Vantive, but still much weaker than compared to earlier times in its history. That's important because I've never seen two weak players made strong by uniting.

I don't recall if SEBL was taking market share away from VNTV and Clarify.

I don't follow the quarter-to-quarter stats of market share, but Siebel has over time been increasing their marketshare. Of late, I'm not sure that they have been taking it from Clarify which has been enjoying a wonderful turn-around situation but Vantive certainly was suffering from declining marketshare while Siebel's was increasing.

I am in the SF bay area, and I hear through friends that PSFT is anticipating massive demand after this merger, and is ramping up hiring like crazy.

The buzz seems to be that PeopleSoft is seeing greater demand. Whether or not it's the result of the merger is another question that probably will never be definitively answered.

Wonder if they will put up a good fight against SEBL.

As a Siebel investor, the paranoia in me tells me they will. As a Gorilla Game practitioner, the score tells me it's Siebel's game to lose, not Vantive/PeopleSoft's to win.
