one though I had was to use my ISA bus instead so to keep free PCIslots for future multimonitor cards.

Such as: Jaz® Jet ISA Adapter $89.95

Brilliant Idea. I had a PCI mental block.

Have you had any experience with ISA to SCSI cards? Would it get the job done?

Yes an ISA SCSI adapter will get the job done. An ISA SCSI adapter can handle a Jaz drive's maximum data rate. Up until September 1998 I used an Adaptec ISA SCSI adapter with a hard disk and an internal Jaz drive in my old 486 computer. I never measured the transfer rate but it always seemed fast to me.
