wbm - re: Hold for "Long term" I have been holding my DELL for 2 years, my CPQ for at least 5, some of it since '91... Most of my INTC and MSFT is from 94 or 95.. more than 50% of my holdings are more than 3 years old.

but I was a "real man" on my CPQ holdings earlier this year, no way those pukes like JK were going to talk me into doom and gloom, after all, Eckhard Pfeiffer had told us all that this was "just a bump in the road". Sold some at 47 but just for diversification. Thought the 30's was a short term dip. A multi-million-dollar mistake.

Don't think that will happen to DELL, and I am not predicting doom or anything like that. But many, many sensible people whose advice I respect are questioning whether DELL will do a lot better next year than it did this year. As I explore the pros and cons of those positions here on the thread, I find a lot of support for the notion that 20% to 30% is what we can expect in 2000.

Perhaps I am getting a little too focused on this issue, maybe I should give it a rest.
