JimL; XTO may be the best buy & safest bet in E&P land; mid capish & hedged great XTO may hit $4.00 cfps in 2000 - multiple here only 2.25 x cfps - near alltime low for XTO and way, way below its and the sectors historic avg. XTO just hedged a good deal of Oil production over $23. Unlike most peers - they've had great production growth. Also; I like their historic valuations - this traded at $15-$20 in 1998 and was a $15 stock both last fall with $2 gas & $12 Oil and was $13-$14 thru much of this year with prior strong buying at $11 to $13. I like that $13-$15 prior support range - with the now much higher cfps & production. I just listed my top 7 E&P picks in 6 different catagories -XTO came out the leader overall by a wide margin. From every angle - this looks like a sure winner at $9. Buying it strongly anywhere near, or under $9 - hell this was a gift in the $11's...
