CNS Bureau) Wednesday, December 15, 1999 CHENNAI: Satyam Infoway Ltd., India's first private Internet service provider, has launched a range of SatyamOnline (SOL) Internet access products with enhanced features. Available in a choice of 30 hours, 90 hours, 180 hours, 360 hours and 600 hours, SOL has also introduced Flexinet, a feature that will enable effective usage of the net. Under Flexinet, users would be charged at 50 percent of the normal rate for logins between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. This version of SOL Internet products has features like auto-configuration of e-mail account on Outlook Express (thereby obviating the tedious process of configuring one's e-mail account). The online help handles queries that the user may have relating to installation, registration, browsing and e-mail services. SOL Internet connections come in the form of a CD with free software worth Rs 6500. Among the software being made available is Dr. Millennium, a Y2K Specialist tool which helps diagnose your PC for Y2K compliance and IndoMail - a software that enables one to send emails in 14 Indian languages . The CD also contains a trial version of Market Pulse where one can get live feed of stock quotes from the BSE and the NSE. Apart from these, SOL also provides e-safe, a parental control and anti-virus software, and ViaGrafix, a multimedia Internet training kit among others. Says company vice president Pradeep Lakshmanan, "Customer Orientation is the keyword. The enhanced version of SOL gives added convenience, wider options, better flexibility and more value for money to the customers."
