Boy, risky time to try timing the market re MSFT. Hope you don't miss a surge. MSFT's in an extremely strong position revenue-wise for the coming FY.

Remember, they've been running an absolutely *huge* Beta and rapid deployment programs for Win2K. There are *already* thousands of copies of Win2K serving real business needs.

Ballmer's comments about Win2K not kicking in until later in the year is referring to the flood, not the trickle. When 1/1/00 passes (like any other day IMO), everyone puts all the IT people back on server expansion and it winds up being great timing for the Win2K release. I think you'll lots of Fortune 1000 Win2K/Office2K announcements in the next 4 or 5 months.
