<I Ordered My new P3 700 MHZ pc with the very sweet altec Lansing ADA880 speaker on November 29 and I got an estimate
of December 14. I thought that was pretty resonable time to wait for them to build and test a computer. So I waited and a day before it was going to ship, I went to check me order status and it was changed to the 21 of December. Then 2 days later I got a call and they said the new ship date is January 5 of 2000. I mean COME on people You should not have to wait that long. I want my pc now. This is a $3000 computer that I ordered here, I should get some kinda special treatment for this kinda cabage i had to shell out. I think I should be compensated here with like a free printer or an MP3 playe. The whole reason I choose dell is there awsome reputation and support not to mention their awsome products (I think the Case is cool Maximum PC) For this DELL needs to go to HELL I want my computer now or I need to be compensated.>

I have heard of other people who placed their CuMine orders in November and who are getting similar treatment. So this is not an isolated incident as far as I can tell. May be Dell will upgrade the poor souls to CuMine 800s ;-)

Here's another amusing message board post (with responses):

Can anyone point me to a site that sells cheap RAMBUS memory? I went to Kingston's site and 64MB runs close to $500!!! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx :O)

--------

Sorry to dissapoint, but at this time there is no such thing as cheap RAMBUS. If anyone else can find any, make sure and spread the news b/c its outragous priced right now.

--------

try looking in the dumpster outside Micron Electronics

------

In your dreams would be a good place to start. Nobody makes cheap rambus yet. Sorry.

I mean, is this the biggest debacle you've ever seen...or what!

Scot - RE: "While I was at MaximumPC reading that article, I noticed the following posted on the discussion boards:"

Dell must have run out of 700MHz samples to ship!
