If this is true, then it's very good news indeed! -

Identix's BioEngine(TM)?

Is broadly licensed and deployed ACROSS the BIOMETRICS industry. I kept reading that part of the Authenticated Certificate news release over, and over. What does this mean? I felt like Richard Dreyfus on "Close Encounters", "This means something"! Well I have come to find out that it definately does mean something. Something very significant. I decided to call Identix and see if they would give me a detailed statement of what "broadly licensed across the biometrics industry means". What I heard next floored me. BioEngine(TM) is currently licensed to over 400 developers across the world. Yes, you are not seeing things, over 400 is exactly what Identix PR said. So since there are not 400 biometric companies on the face of the earth, I asked them how this could be. They said it was not limited to just Biometric companies. It included Security companies and a host of other developers[I assumed they are software and hardware developers, the IR person would not comment]. I asked why they did not sing this from the highest mountain top? The answer: If we put out a press release on this subject, stockholders would think it somehow should relate to this quarters numbers, and it does not. Many of these licenses were in place before Identix purchased Identicator [obviously a good reason alone to buy Identicator in my opinion]. The real revenues will come as the developers release software with Identix's BioEngine as the building block for the applications.[My words-Identix will earn revenues from each and every licensed piece of software that is sold with BioEngine as its core technology].Identix IR said that when licensed products are released, they will announce them. I said thank you, and Yahoo!
Oh, I almost forgot, you are probably wondering what a BioEngine is, well, this is the explanation that Identix IR gave to me. It is the core technolgy at the heart of the BioLogOn software. It makes BioLogOn run, thus the engine part of the name. I thought to myself, whatever it is, it must be pretty special to be licensed across the biometrics industry and totaling over 400 developers worldwide. Its got my attention! I would still like to see it shouted from the mountain tops, well, I guess the Yahoo Identix board will have to do for now. Bummer.
