I have a small investment in a community bank. I wrote them recently suggesting they consider providing on-line banking and bill payment before they loose all their customers to the big banks and the likes of Yahoo, AOL etc.

I was surprised to get a response from them today saying they were indeed doing that after the first of the year. This is a small community bank. My guess is that many other small banks will be doing the same if for no other reasons than to hold on to their current customers.

CKFR is a winner and it will soar after the first of the year, possibly before.

If interest rates don't climb too much higher, small banks should do well in 2000 due to innovation and consolidation. The are pretty depressed right now.

>>>Late in the game for this round.

Yup true enough Charlie...but this time the game was backasswards. Usually old Tech would lead new Tech, this time is was a mirror reverse.

Guess we just got to thinks backwards for a while...or at minimum be alert to the differences between old tech and new tech and how they interact with each other within a similar segment when the money truck moves through.

I made a note of it.

FWIW...almost to the day I had my head shaved, this stock has been flat. Musta been something to that Samson deal letting my hair grow out after Spectrum?

Now....I figured if the rest of you all shaved your heads like I did....including Bob Gintel, we might be able to play this yet one more time from the 20's.

Mamas got one of those Whal head shavers which she does me with...but I noticed K-Mart has some decent dog clippers in their Pet Department for about 9 Bucks...comes with a lot of attachments too.

Think about it...CNBC is bound to have Bob back in 3 or 4 months...and it's not every day you see a 70 year old guy with a shaved head on TV, especially one with a Tattoo?

Merry Christmas all you Peckerwoods!
