Let's see if we can cover this stock split question once -- clean and simple. We'll link back to this for all who ask.

Here's the announcement:

CMGI Announces Two-For-One Stock Split

ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--CMGI, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMGI) today announced that the Company's Board of Directors has approved a two-for-one common stock split to be effected in the form of a stock dividend. The dividend will be distributed on January 11, 2000 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on December 28, 1999.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE RECORD DATE of Dec. 28. You may purchase CMGI shares up until the distribution date of Jan 11, 2000 and your shares will split two for one. In other words, if you buy between 12/28 and 1/11, you will not miss the 2-for-1 dividend. Hope this clears up the matter.
