Alas, Michael, that's not the way it works. Seagate (SEG) holds over 90 million shares of Veritas (VRTS). SEG's holding of VRTS are worth more than SEG's market cap! SEG crawls up, but VRTS doesn't give SEG a kick. I expect the same with CPQ holding CMGI.
