Petz - RE: "http://www.tomshardware.com has a review of the OR840 motherboard out today. On certain benchmarks and games it beats the i820 motherboards (RAMBUS) and the BX chipset motherboards (SDRAM) by over 20%."

Did you notice that the Cumine 750 is EQUAL to or SLOWER than the 733 on the i820 AND i840 motherboards in many of Tom's tests?

The 750's slower bus holds it back, but it will cost MORE than the 733.

This is further proof that platform is getting as important as processor. Too bad Intel either offers good performance at a HIGH price or comparably lower performance at a realistic price.

The 750 will work in the retail space where MHz is important, but otherwise, I don't know why one would want to purchase a Cumine 750 when the 733 is faster...

The benchmarks Intel will have at its site should be interesting.

Elmer, looks like the 733MHz PIII is still going to be Intel's overall fastest processor performance-wise.

Of the 14 benchmarks Tom has done, the Cumine 750 is faster than the 733 in 3 tests with the i840 and 2 tests with the i820.

That means that of the 28 chances the Cumine 750 has to be faster than the 733, the LOWER clocked 733 if FASTER in 23 of the tests!

If you haven't seen the numbers yet they are all here - www6.tomshardware.com

What a launch it will be Monday - An overall slower processor and a still sampling processor!
