Don't you think you're taking the Intel defender role a little too seriously? Certainly not in the spirit of this thread.<<

Maybe. But I have bent over backwards here to say honest, appropriate things about AMD. I have expressed my feeling that AMD deserves a huge amount of credit for Athlon. I have stated many times that Intel has to take AMD seriously. You have lots of posts over on the Intel thread in the same spirit, and in spite of Paul's jabs, you are well liked over there, I think.
When I am accused of being a blind, irrational intel supporter from someone like niceguy767 who is a blind man if there ever was one, I get pissed. I am not happy with intel, and own it for only one reason. The same reason YOU own your stocks.
I post more on this thread than the Intel thread because, frankly, it is a more interesting forum. I find most of the responses here courteous and thoughtful. When I get uncourteous and unthoughtful myself, I get the same in return.
I am sorry if you think I defend Intel too seriously. I think both companies are at crossroads, headed different directions, and I believe both may well prosper.
I am rambling, so I'll save some for next time. <G>
