<<<Off Topic, Sort Of>>> Alternatively Derived Electricity
Hi BigBull,
I know of that outfit. Their place is near the Albany NY airport. It's an interesting idea that bears watching, but too early to sink $ into, imho.

Electricity is very expensive in upstate NY, so it is a great place for them to test and work the bugs out. They offer to set up one of their systems if you'll pay them (per month)what you have been paying the grid-provider. My upstate place is Way Way up in the mountains and very difficult to reach in winter, so I didn't think it was a good move for me. ---They couldn't get in to repair...Propane delivery issues...etc etc

But if I was building my cabin now, with the expense of running electricity in (I have 13 poles of my own), I'd have a different perspective.

This technology might have a bright future!! Or at least it might make previously impractical mountaintops habitable!! <G>

Seriously, it seems they can provide electricity at competitive prices now in places where it is expensive. With the expected lowering of costs associated with tech improvements and scale increases.....hmmmmm.

regards,
diana
