Jim, re:" wonder if that had something to do with AMD..."

Gee, I wonder... Jim, I don't think you'll get it even if you had a road map with blinking arrows.

For a clue look at the following chart for National:

beta.siliconinvestor.com

The things to notice:

NSM - $41 per share Nov, 97 Announces acquisition of Cyrix
NSM - $10 per share May, 99 Announces the CLOSURE of Cyrix
NSM - $41 per share Today - NSM recovered from x86 CPU debacle.

Is no mystery why AMD is on the list - your x86 cloner is fanatical about hurting INTC and not behaving in its shareholders interest. Instead they have become the industry laughing stock and continually hurt themselves. This is there SECOND YEAR on this respected list of the infamous. Looks like they have a bead on how to stay there.

Seems now at least they have a weapon to get on track with.

AMD has found the "weapon" to loose money at record levels.
Dresden is burning money now at a voracious rate. This horror is now buried into capital accounting, but will move to the P & L once Athalons begin to trickle out in Q32K. Get yourself salivating for loss levels that will put even 1999 losses to shame.

Meanwhile perhaps you can get a life and post here about 80% less frequently, or better yet, refrain unless you have something other than drivel to contribute. Your messin' up my thread.

Thanks,
Jeff
