Question for you Lizzer -- If you had the bucks, would you pay a million for the dump in the picture because it was in a good school district -- or -- would you buy a nice home in a crummy school district and send your kid to a private school?

Thanks for asking Mikey! As a matter of fact, I think I'd pick the dump.... oh, wait - I already live in a dump, so theres your answer - lol.

Actually, I don't know what the deal is with that house in Saratoga, because it is beyond dumpy - it also looks kind of stupid like it was an add-on or something, maybe its a tear down on a great lot next door to a park. You don't have to live like that here. I was looking at this house today, its too big for me but we went by it in SF. See how much cheaper it is, because its in SF - even Beverly Hills is cheaper than silicon valley.

this is in SF and to commute to the valley would be rough. But since I'm in logistics hardly anything of mine is down there, I'm in SF or SSF/Brisbane.

My point about taxes has more to do with fairness and the skewing of the market that goes on when laws like that go in. It happens with rent control in NYC too I think.
