RE>>You have to admit though, it is a very complex subject <<
It is both complex and time consuming....
RE>>6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. <<
Here's a few comments on just one verse:
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
1. ===== Thousand years
A thousand years is a limited yet very great amount of time not infinite so it is not in heaven but very large:
Psalms 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
Who owns the cattle on hill number 1001 ??? :-} All the cattle are also God's but though the number is great it is not infinite or eternal. Hill 1001 is also God's cattle.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
2. ===== Second death
Second death is nicely explained so let's know that one down right here and now:
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Second death is Hell !
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
3. ===== Priests
+ IMPORTANT + Priests are not required in heaven so out goes A-mil. They are of " God and Christ " terminology so New Covenant ceremonial ministers ( all the elect ) :
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
'Generation' in that verse means "kind or family" not 38 years. ( De 1:35 2:14) Nor 100 years as with Abrahamic times (Ge 15:16)
That verse is the mirror image of the O.T. Nation of Israel and refers to all the elect and the "invisible" nation and suits Rev 20 priests of God and Christ ( who called you )
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
4. ===== First Resurrection. { also Blessed and Holy.}
Some people think that because it refers to " Blessed and Holy " that this must be about God. God however does not merely "have part" in the first resurrection nor is God referred to as " on such - they shall." This refers to Holy and Blessed people.. the saved or at least some of the saved. I believe it is all of the saved because the First Resurrection is not to be taken out of the grave as most men think... It is to be taken out of the death of Adam:
First Resurrection = Born-again
note.. Quickened means made alive or resurrected from death.
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 ô And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Being quickened "with Him " to blessed to have part in the first resurrected = Jesus Christ
The firstfruits ( tithe to heaven) of many brethren.( remaining in service on earth )
1 Corinthians 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Losing focus.. too much to be said of this... Read the verses before and after the one I just quoted...
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Jesus having suffered once = Died. Quickened by the spirit = resurrected
Also see about living the resurrected life on earth in the spirit:
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Also:
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 ô And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Too many verses that prove the first resurrection is the state of being Born-again from the death in Adam.
So then First death = Death inherited in Adam First resurrection = Born-again union with Jesus's own resurrection Second Resurrection = General resurrection of all the dead ( the rest of the dead = wicked not born -again) Second Death = Hell
Christians die in Adam.. are resurrected in Christ ( born spiritually ) never suffer the second death ( hath no power) Wicked die in Adam.. are resurrected to Judgement after the 1000 years and suffer the second death.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
5. ===== Blessed and Holy
We are those who are Holy:
1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
We are the Blessed of the Lord:
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
6. ===== No Power:
Satan has lost us as his slaves and he and his destructive forces are not our master.
2 Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
+ Important + Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
When Jesus led the devil into captivity... at the first Resurrection:
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Mark 3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
Satan is bound and His captives are set free to the spoiling of the devil's goods.
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7. ===== Shall Reign
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
1 Corinthians 4:8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
We are seated in heavenly places though we walk in this world. We are victorious though we are slaughter a sheep.
2 Corinthians 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
We reign with Christ who sits on the Throne of David at God's right hand.
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
So allow me to paraphrase if you would:
Anyone who is born-again and elected to partake in the resurrection hope and reign of Jesus will not suffer the fate of satan and his children in hell forever but will be both priests of the new covenant and shall reign with Him as kings on this earth for many generations.
How does that sit with you ? OK not OK ?
RE>>for weapons and sharp objects that could be used to maim<<
Any weapons? MUCH MORE COULD BE SAID
That is just one little verse.. out of Seven that you quoted! |
